Time goes very fast. And, unfortunately, the war in our native Ukraine continues. It means that the number of people who need help grows every day.
During the period from May to June, we collected 25 067,4 UAH (it’s approximate 841EUR) and came to Chernivtsi to bring this help personally. We passed the money on, talked a lot, and showed what pole dance was.

QUEEN is a Ukrainian brand with its production in the western part of the country. In 2015, we made our first pair of knee pads. And now these accessories are known and loved in 65 countries. We are a team of dance fans who love beauty and women. That`s why we help ladies to feel special. And also we love our country - Ukraine.

But one morning, our daily routine has completely changed. We woke up to the sound of explosions. And now, like the rest of the Ukrainians, we`re suffering from russia agression. We cannot remain slient. So let`s tell the whole world how the war affected our lives.

Less than two months ago, our phones were filled with happy daily photos - theater plays, snowfall, laughing kids, and funny faces of colleagues. We made selfies and sent plans for weekends to our friends. But then, on Feb.24, it all changed as Russian forces invaded Ukraine. A country of nearly 44 million people became caught up in a war. The blare of sirens replaced the sounds of our usual life.
Less than two months ago, our phones were filled with happy daily photos - theater plays, snowfall, laughing kids, and funny faces of colleagues. We made selfies and sent plans for weekends to our friends. But then, on Feb.24, it all changed as Russian forces invaded Ukraine. A country of nearly 44 million people became caught up in a war. The blare of sirens replaced the sounds of our usual life.
Yes, the whole cyberspace was full of ‘Russian actions will begin at 4 am’. We heard that, worried, but didn’t believe it. And all to the last, Ukrainians didn’t believe that Russia would kill women, pregnant girls, and children. Nearly 200,000 Russian troops massed along the borders and began to attack our Motherland.

It sounds like living in a horror movie...
Bloodied toys on the railway station in Kramatorsk which was hit by Russians. Women, children, and elder people, who simply wanted to escape, were killed with a large rocket. Russian invaders not only killed civilians, rejected humanitarian corridors, but even didn’t allow people to bury their relatives in the cemetery - they had to do that in the backyards. Destroyed houses, ruins and remnants of rockets. We had to accept the new reality.

Unfortunately, numbers become higher.
A lot of Ukrainians had to move to other cities and villages. Women and children left their families and went abroad to find that desirable safety. We hoped that the war would stop in a week. The QUEEN team lost homes, things, and families, but not hope
The first days of the war, our working places were empty. Half-finished things were left. Some people moved to Poland. Some colleagues decided to stay at home - in the western part of Ukraine. After some days of the war they came to the office. Because work saves from bad thoughts and helps to focus on something more pleasant than death.

Then we ignited volunteer activity. Our workers seized all backed polyethylene from the warehouse. Earlier we made pads for QUEEN accessories but during the war it was used for sleeping pads for people in shelters. Ukrainian soldiers even used our kneepads instead of tactical. And our little pride: our defenders rated QUEEN knee pads at 10 out of 10. It’s so pleasant to be helpful. More than 1000 pairs were donated to our military men every week. But we were not done with that. The QUEEN team made raincoats, balaclavas and scrim banners.

The founders of the brand - Ivan and Viktoria - also helped to start the Lviv Defense Cluster. This public association coordinates more than 10 manufactures and provides Ukrainian defenders with 2000 body armors every day. This is a little but very important contribution to the future victory.

After 3 weeks we began to get back to work
The team had to get used to new ways of working. We are really glad that QUEEN can continue producing kneepads and other accessories. We still make nice things and make people happier. In this way, we allow our workers to gain money for their families. And yes, such activities keep us away from thinking too much.

Unfortunately, now we can’t work together. Some of us stay in Kyiv and Lviv. We got used to working up to the sound of sirens and running to bomb shelters. Some colleagues moved abroad so they work remotely. But we have one goal - to make beautiful products that allow women to feel unique. That’s why we continue creating new designs. And we’re glad to present a new collection.
Unfortunately, now we can’t work together. Some of us stay in Kyiv and Lviv. We got used to working up to the sound of sirens and running to bomb shelters. Some colleagues moved abroad so they work remotely. But we have one goal - to make beautiful products that allow women to feel unique. That’s why we continue creating new designs. And we’re glad to present a new collection.
The design is inspired by love for the Motherland. That’s why you can see Ukrainian ornament patterns, which are hand embroidered. Multicolored stitchery is a long-standing tradition. Ethnic flowers on the fabric are traditional symbols of peace. And we decided that it would be a symbol of ordinary spring, which is so desired now. Our gifted sewers made these accessories with great hope and love. So we’re sure that it will bring luck to every new owner.

Over the last two months of the war in Ukraine, the QUEEN team received hundreds of supporting messages from people all over the world. They wish us strength and ask “How can we support Ukraine?”. One of the ways to support Ukraine is to buy our accessories and retain/give jobs to Ukrainians staying here.
